If your fears and concerns as a teacher is summed up in the above quote, then this is where you need to start from. This piece is dedicated to passionate Teachers who wish to get a take home pay that can actually take them home and stand them on equal stanchion as their peers in other sectors.
To create wealth this year as a teacher, I will admonish you to follow this path carefully.
1) Seek capital for start-up. The truth is, the school you are teaching at or laboring for will never pay you enough to become wealthy. Some can get you comfortable by providing such things like accommodation, cars, household items etc, but they will never help you buy landed properties or build your own company. You will have to do that yourself. To begin a start-up, you will need capital. Depending on the nature of venture you wish to get into, your capital need may range from 50,000 to 100,000 or more. You will need to raise this amount from off the meagre pay you earn as a teacher.
The following are great ways you can raise capital as a teacher;
1) Cooperative and contributory funding: - Join a contribution, it is one great way to raise fund as a salary earner.
2) Sell your skills:- Your ability to teach any subject or body of knowledge is a skill that can be package and sold to a waiting assemblage of consumers. Put your knowledge into an E-book or Kindle and sell on Amazon to the world.
3) Start A Information Based Blog. whatsApp Group or Facebook blog. Gather audience and turn it into a paid audience view platform with time.
2) Start an Educational Business. As a teacher, you are uniquely qualified to start an Educational Business in any of the spheres of the Education.
Note, not only running a school is the Educational Business available. There are several many aspects that makes up Edubusiness.
Some are;
1) Admission placement services.
2) Bookshop.
3) Teaching Aid design and sale.
4) Parents advisory services.
5) Educational softwares and Apps.
6) Special subject training viz music, phonics, maths aid, etc.
All of these businesses are endeavours you can launch as a part time gig. It does not affect your 7am to 4pm engagement as a teacher but it has the potential of turning your income base around.
3) Seek advancement, skill-up and connect. Your earning potential is directly tied to your skills set and the type of connection you are exposed to. One thing that can set you up very quick is your abilities and aptitude.
Digital Skills in high demand include;
1) Video presentation and simulation.
2) Cloud computing.
3) Excel proficiency.
4) Data analytics.
5) Machine learning.
6) Data collection and sorting.
7) Internet search and authentication
You can acquire all these skills at no cost and without leaving your job. These skills are not only in high demand, they are heavily priced in the online market.
